A judge has denied Jesse Vang’s request to either: move his trial from Manitowoc County to another county, pick a jury pool from another county, or sequester the jury. Vang is one of 2 people charged in the death of 3 year old Elijah Vue.
Vang’s lawyer had argued that the publicity surrounding the case would impact his ability to have a fair trial. However, the judge stated that sequestering a jury would cause hardship for them and jurors would be weeded out by their questionnaires.
The court is considering the trial to begin early next year.
