Fond du Lac County authorities believe that carbon monoxide was behind a potentially deadly situation that developed in a rural home early this Wednesday morning. The Sheriff said that they were called to a home on County Road B just north of Long Lake in the Township of Osceola shortly after 2 AM, where multiple people were experiencing symptoms consistent with carbon monoxide poisoning.
The Eden Fire Department, Campbellsport Ambulance and a deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded and found the family experiencing severe symptoms. That brought in addition resources from Fond du Lac Fire & Rescue and Mount Calvary Ambulance to assist in the transport of patients to local hospitals. In all, six children ages 4, 7, 9, 2, 14 and 17, along with as 46-year-old man and 42-year-old woman were affected.
The incident remains under investigation.
