A Sheboygan company that patented its own waste-to-resource process was named the winner of the Regional Startup World Cup Pitch Contest held Monday at the Weill Center. The contest gave entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges, introduce their products to attendees, and compete for a place at the Startup World Cup Global Finals in San Francisco.

Louis Structures, LLC of Sheboygan, represented by Benjamin Louis Horvat, won the first-place prize of $2,000 and will represent the region in the global finals where a $1 million prize awaits the winner.
Louis Structures product, MSWagg, is a lightweight construction aggregate, or gravel, made from municipal solid household waste suitable for foundation drainage, backfill, road fill, concrete production and civil infrastructure.

Food FiXR of Milwaukee won the $1,000 People’s Choice Award for its AI-powered smartphone app and platform that matches grocery choices to individual biochemical and health needs.
